Hello everyone.

This post is for my application to Live Connect 2020. The most interesting thing I have done as a Local Guide is that I have made many friends, got many contacts, locally and internationally. I was able to serve the society, recently, I got the contact of a NGO through a Local Guide friend and had the chance to paint and beautify a flyover wall. I also landed up cheering and motivating my fellow Guides to contribute and post to Local Guides Connect.

All this started as stated below:

In 2017 I visited UK, stayed in my daughter’s house for two months. I had visited many places there and taken many pictures of all the places I visited. That time I have attached my photos to my my Gmail account. From then onward, I used to get notifications from Google to contribute to maps and serve the society. Thus I started contributing to Google Maps by posting photos and writing reviews of the places I visited.

The above is my first picture I took in St. Albans, UK.

I started active contribution in Google Maps after my travel to South Indian Temples in 2018. I have posted many photos in Google Maps and written many reviews about places, which I have visited. I got thank you replies from many of the businesses I have written reviews about. I really felt very much privileged by these replies. I got mails from Google appreciating my contributions. I joined the Local Guides Connect last year when I got a mail from Google to apply for Connect Live 2019. That was my first step in Local Guides Connect. I wrote many posts in Local Guides Connect. I am very glad to mention that my posts got the attention of many Connect Moderators and many fellow local guides and my posts got trending in Connect. This is again, one of the most interesting things done by me as a Local Guide.

I will keep contributing to Google Maps and Local Guides Connect and continue as a proud Local Guide.

Hoping to join you all in the Bay Area for Connect Live 2020.

@Gurukrishnapriya I’m doing fine, thanks! Everybody here is on lockdown and working from home so it’s been busy as I’m getting more emails now that we can’t speak face to face. But that’s just the way things are for now. Take care of yourself too and hopefully things will get better globally!
