The most interesting thing i consider i have done as Local Guide by Emmanuel from Kenya

If you think its a waste of time to just contribute in the local guides community, well then maybe you have been missing on a lot. Local guides is great for getting around and helping others get around. Its amazing on how one can help others by adding photos of places, you just sitting in a public transport vehicle then you hear this lad saying “wow, this guy really helped me get a view of this town its actually not that different from the photos thanks to him” and then a few moments later you get this pop up notification from local guides on how you are famous and how you have helped people navigate around. This really motivates me and makes me more passionate about local guides and gives me the urge to contribute more on maps.

Its fun to explore the world and roads that the local guides community have added, local guides is a kind and loving community build with the intention of improving the accuracy and level of contribution towards Google maps and the levels which are attainable from level 1 to level 10 is even more interesting and magnificent.

I have been contributing to google maps and i have been providing fair reviews to the places i have visited or services used. Through this i know that i have contributed to many practical real life applications that can make my life and the life of other people on and off Google maps more easier.

One of the most interesting things i have done on local guides is when my fellow student called me up to know the location where i was in the university campus, Maasai Mara university Narok which i am currently learning in. I took a photo of the place where i was and decided to make it a challenge for my fellow student to recognize where i had taken the picture. The rules of the challenge was to not share any Real time location and not to use any other real time tracking apps, to my amusement my fellow student quickly recognized where i was after i directed him to search for the university and look for the latest photos of the university contributed by me in Google maps. After that he was in for the local guides community.

Below i am going to share some photos of my university. Thanks to you Local guides community.

Hello @Winceville You might have wondered what happened to the first post you wrote, as that all of a sudden disappeared, right? Well, actually, it was accidentally caught in our spam filter (which is quite strict out here). I have now released it and merged it with your other post, to avoid that your Connect account would get flagged as spammer.

The result is that the content of your first post is now added as a comment to your second post. If you want, you can remove the content of that comment by clicking the ‘…’ at the bottom of the comment and then simply removing the content there (or replace it with something like “content removed as it was an accidental duplicate”).

Best of luck with your application for Connect Live!

Thanks
