The most impactful thing I have done as a Local Guide: A Restaurant in Venice

I always use Google Maps as a way to help others discover new places and give them helpful tips and info that could prove useful to them when they eventually visit the location. For example, I applied those skills when I visited Italy in September 2018. In Venice, it is very easy to get lost in their alleys, and getting lost was just how we stumbled upon a lovely small restaurant owned by a lady who hardly spoke any English. We managed to order what we wanted. I started taking pictures to share on Google and with my mom but realized the restaurant was nowhere to be found on Google… I then asked her if she would like me to add it to Google so people can find her business. I think she misunderstood me, thinking I was wanting to be a partner or get into business with her, and was not having it, haha. Eventually, after trying to explain for a few minutes, the waiter helped her understand that all I wanted to do was to more customers find her lovely business. The food was AMAZING, to say the least. I loved all the little paintings and the small terrace she had outside. I am so pleased to see that since then she has gotten over 170,000 views and many reviews that speak so highly of the place. That’s all I want to get out of this: Helping people in the smallest way as a Local Guide and hoping it has an impact. I hope you enjoyed this little story
