Hi, @KishorMali

As far as I know,

Connect is a place to get to know other Local Guides, plan activities, share your stories, give feedback and more.

What are Connect topics? will help you to understand what are the topics of the community.

I have checked carefully the list of topic, but I can’t find “Connect” as a Connect topic.

Of course on how to we talk about connect, in term of improvement ar issues, but in my opinion writing about Connect instead of writing about the Local Guides experiences is deeply Off Topic

@ErmesT

I didn’t find any off topic in my post,

It’s not my experience, it’s the experience of whole community. And it’s based on my observation.

I have listed out all the most important questions/queries, because it’s needed to be highlighting.

You are right, connect is not a connect topic, but here I discussing whole connect in terms of controversies.

I have no any issues, if this post will be moved into off-topic,

Before publishing of this post, I am aware that it’s has chances to be off-topic. But I found that it’s useful to community.

Dear @KishorMali

I read your post thrice and honestly I could not understand what/how you wanted to help the community with?

with due respect and in all honesty, I believe you confused controversy with something else and in my opinion a controversy can never be

“Controversies= questions, argues, Dissatisfactions, discussions, frustrations, problems, confusions”

I find the post title to be misleading and derogatory. I assume that perhaps you wanted to encourage people with some of your thoughts in your “Tips” section but the same time I find it really hard to align and relate your tips with the overall post conjecture.

I cannot comment whether your post is completely off-topic or not, but in my opinion it is confusing and misleading for our community. Now everyone at Connect enjoys a certain freedom of speech and we always speak our hearts out by keeping the core values in mind, I find it really disturbing when I see content based on mistruth and specially when it hurts the feeling of the overall community.

I hope that you can understand what we are trying to say here and I would very pleased to see if you could update your post a little.

Cheers

Thanks. @OmerAli

I update my post. And did further changes based on your advice.

Hi , how are you @KishorMali ?

I have read your post and in my humble opinion Connect is so far away from the word Controversies-

On the contrary I find healhty debate, and diverse discussions about all the interesant topics of the forum.

When you read Connect you can feel that genuine connections of very diverse people is building day by day. And this is very very healthy.

Maybe you are trying to explain something with other concept.
This is my opinion.

Regards! Thanks.

Thanks. @SebaasC @OmerAli @ErmesT

My intention is good, but my direction was wrong.

In these I didn’t hurt the 5 core values of connect.

Every word has own meaning. I assume controversies as a questions, hence it’s my personal belief.

I found that many local guides asking same questions, so I thought made the post regarding and including all most asked questions.

Past 10 days, I read the many of negative articles and news, maybe this post is came from result of that reading, but my point of view is right.

In this I found that lack of patience, clarification and lack conceptual mindset all are missing.

Thanks for your comments and once again keeping me on right track.

If I have time, I will add solution links. :+1:

Tagging @AngieYC ,

Can you move this post into off topic? I didn’t satisfied with my post.

I know your intention was good, @KishorMali , and I know how much you love this community, how much you love to read, and how much you love lists and statistics.

To better explain my previous answer, we need to understand who we are, and why we are here.

We are Local Guides. It means that we are guiding others by sharing our experience and updating the information in Google Maps. We do not contribute for points and perks. Points and perks are simply the representation of our contributions, not a scope.

What is Connect. Connect is a virtual place for connecting people. Sharing our experience about the places where we live, through stories, images, food, travel, we make the world smaller, and connected. We can learn about other countries, different food, we can plan a real trip after reading about places we didn’t knew before.

And of course, we want to help others so, if a local guide need help, we are happy to help.

Of course, in every community, we have people who misunderstood the meaning of being a Local Guide. They have the right to answer, and even to complain, we are happy to help them too.

As you can see, a Googler time by time write a post about the community, and myself I wrote several posts related to connect, to help the new members to better understand the rules.

But connect itself is not our topic. As @SebaasC explained, in connect we like to read contents that help us to learn more about the world.

That’s why we have a list of topics. What I would like to read from you is your experience as a Local Guide, not your experience about Connect itself.

Of course controversial post will always exist, we are here to respond to them too, helping them even if (sometimes) they only wants to know how to leave the program.

As you read a lot, you can use your experience helping them.

This will be more helpful than your list
