The meaning of being a Google Local guide

I started using Google Maps a few years ago, at first just to check locations or get routes, but I soon learnt how useful it was also to find important information about, for example, opening times, phone numbers or websites.

It has become more and more natural to me answering to other users’ questions. One of the topics I care about the most is accessibility. Both my uncle and one of my best friends are on a wheelchair, and in the past it was very difficult to find information about that on the internet, without being forced to call and ask beforehand. More and more places, thanks to Local Guides, have now been checked, so we can decide whether to go in just a few taps on the screen.

Another thing I love about Google Maps is the chance to add pictures. Photography is among my passions, and I love sharing pictures of the places I visit with all the community. I also enjoy posting food pictures, so that people can get an idea of the dishes they can taste when visiting the same place.

I believe that what makes me proudest of being a Local Guide is the feeling to belong to a huge community and I wish I were able to share more and more in the future!
