If you are an art enthusiast whose visiting UAE you should never miss the chance to visit Louvre in Abu Dhabi. If you are not that familiar about the place, Louvre in Abu Dhabi is an art and civilization museum, located in Abu Dhabi, UAE. It was built as part of a thirty-year agreement between the city of Abu Dhabi and the French government. The museum is located on the Saadiyat Island Cultural District.
I am an expat here in UAE and this place on my place-to-visit list before I settle back to my country and lucky enough I got the chance to visit this very iconic place. Travelling here is a bit difficult since it is far from Abu Dhabi downtown or center. If you’re up for an adventure, just like me, you can just ride a bus.
If it’s your first time in Abu Dhabi, you can take bus no. 94 in Al Wahda Mall (Grand Terminus) opposite side. Note that you need to take bus no. 94 from the other side and not the one going to Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque. It took us almost an hour for the bus ride.
As for the ticket, you can either purchase on on the museum’s information desk or you can also purchase online to skip the line upon entry. The ticket costs around AED 60 per person but if you are a school teacher or student they usually give up to 50% discount, just bring or show your valid school or employment ID upon purchase.
