This is Imran from Bangladesh, at first I like to tell you about my hobby which is traveling and to do hiking. Five years ago when I started traveling inside my country, a map was required. Then I bought a printed map! As well as I started using Google Map, before then it was like a regular program on my smartphone. And started navigating without asking anybody.
There are sixty four districts in my country, after visiting more than fifty districts I realized that there are few places in map where there are no photographs or service ratings what a traveler could be looking for. And there are options to share my photos, then I started sharing photographs. After sharing very few photos, I saw this are helping others.
From my own experience, I found some places like hotel and restaurant very helpful and interesting, on the other hand, I found some places very disappointing, but I didn’t know about that before. Then I decided to rate and review a place at least it’s good or bad. I usually write very short review, which is a visitor must to do or not.
I’ve done Country-Cross Hiking three times in Bangladesh, this time Google Map helps me the most. I had to make route plan in detail what could have been three times more difficult without Google Map. It helps me to find easiest and shortest route. We had to set camp for staying nights and reviews from other Local Guides helped me to choose the proper camping location. That is how I explored every end of my country, and contributed as a Local Guide.
I usually do travel with train and visited almost all the Railway Stations in my country, where Google Map and reviews from other Local Guide played a very effective role. And I tried to share all my experiences around the railroad.
Very recently I’ve visited my neighboring country India and the trip was longer than five thousand kilometers. This time reviews and ratings from other Local Guides helps me to choose perfect destination, and I also tried to explain how I felt and what kind of services I got from Hotels, Restaurants and Train Stations.
This is how Local Guide helping me to travel and explore, and I think my contributions are also helping others to choose the perfect destination. This program takes the world closer to me.
