The Local Guides program? Let me tell you how we met!

Once upon a time there was a girl, traveling a lot, alone and all over the world (ok a bit exaggerating). Anyway, I was in Asia, America and while I was flying back, in a plane, I have discovered the Local Guides Program. I was editing my pictures on my laptop and the guy next to me (no, it’s not gonna be a love story) started to compliment my work. “You should be a photographer”, “Oh I used to be one” I answered. He asked me about my job as a food photographer and how it was to have this kind of dream job, then he asked me the crucial question: “But what do you do now with your pictures? Do you have an Instagram account?”. I do, but I don’t like to share just for the likes or just to share. So I don’t. He told me he understands me very well and asked me then “So you should totally be a Google Local Guide!”. And then I was the one asking questions: “What is it?”, “How does it work?”, etc. And that’s how I spent an unforgettable flight. From the second I landed, having connexion on my smartphone in my sweet country (Switzerland is amazing), I started an account. It’s been 3 years now and I am very happy to be a part of this useful and beautiful program that brings people together.

Finally, let me show you the pictures I was editing on the plane, and maybe they will make you hungry

Hey @f_ianwan ,

Thank you for sharing.

I’d like to let you know that I’ve moved your post to Local Stories, as it looks like an application post and it belongs there.

If you need some tips on how to create it, please check out the How to write a great application post for Connect Live 2020 and Connect Live applications are now open posts.

By the way your images are flawless, the “Crêpe de tapioca fourrée aux champignons” looks divine. :]
