I’ve been a local guide for a couple of years now so I thought I’d share exactly how I ended up where I am. I got a notification from google maps saying that I can post the pictures that I had taken on my phone on google maps and it can be seen by anyone who then google’s the place. To be honest, they were a bunch of very poorly taken photographs and for that matter, most of my pictures aren’t that professional, I eventually just developed a liking for it and kept continuing it and today it has become one of my favorite hobbies and has encouraged me to step out of the house more to discover newer places. My friends often tell me that I’m sometimes too carried away by this and that I should learn to live in the present more than worry about how many views I might get for a review or a picture but it’s nice to let others know what they should and shouldn’t expect out a place because googling is one of the commonest things that people do these days and if there’s a chance that my message or review or pictures can in any way help someone, then I should do it. I’m not saying that I’m going to one day become someone important I’m just saying that if I’m able to help people by barely moving a muscle and using a few seconds of my time, I should keep doing it. That’s why I became an active local guide and I love writing those long reviews which not many people do. I have a liking to writing long paragraphs, I also have a blog where I post my movie reviews because I love movies. I don’t claim to be an expert writer but you don’t have to be one in order to pass on simple messages about a place to people. Also, this is a no judgment zone, so I’m free to do whatever I want to and I’d like to continue doing this. Life is about discovering new things, and I’m glad that Google is giving people this opportunity.
