Local guides have this enormous responsibility of bringing to notice about small and lesser known food joints to the public attention. I believe the indian street food items need as much showcasing as the big & highly rated restaurants. Its time we netizens & local guides change our course and give these small stalls and food joints more recognition.
I would like to bring one such local stall that goes by the name of Surendra Kevat Litti. They sell litti chokha throughout the year which is a very famous dish served in the east indian states of Jharkhand & Bihar. And these people are the best in the business, they prepare and serve on the spot.
During the winters people love it so much that one can see a huge crowd in and around the mobile stall from a mile away. The best thing about this dish is it tastes heavenly when eaten with desi ghee (Clarified butter).
One piece litti costs only 15 I NR, you start feeling heavy after eating 4 pieces of Litti. This mobile stall uses fresh Sal Leaves as serving plates which is totally environment friendly unlike the usage of plastic plates.
