The joy of sharing my running experiences with Google Maps

Google Maps makes a significant difference for me as a runner who travels a lot, especially for my safety, if I’m traveling alone.

When I’m travel, I’m getting up early, just to make sure that I log the necessary miles to ensure that I’ll be ready come race day. When it comes to road safety, knowing your route is more than just understanding mileage and terrain. It’s about understanding traffic patterns. It’s about understanding intersections. It’s about knowing how the road is used at various times of day and the type people/drivers you are sharing it with. At the same time, if I am running in unfamiliar territory, it takes some time to study the surroundings and to observe the environment I’m training in and to prepare accordingly, but I can always rely on Google Maps help.

Although travel can be a challenge, it doesn’t make running impossible, because there is always on-the-road running network. They are also a great resource for other places to run in town if you can’t make their scheduled weekly fun runs. And everything is easy to plan and share thanks to Google Maps.

And because it is important to me, I am happy to help others like me by sharing the best places I know to stay, run and eat. I like to review the best running spots in my area, or answer questions about accessibility, as well to add small businesses to the map – if healthy food is around, it’s easy to snack healthy and that, plus a comfy accommodation spot, aids in feeling good and maintaining your fitness routine.
