The Joy of Shared Experiences

Hello all!

I’ve been a local guide for some years and I have to say it’s great to be a part of the local guide community!

Since this is my first post, I’ll try to keep in short and sweet and introduce myself by telling you what I’m passionate about sharing.

I’ve used Google Maps, even Google Earth back in the day, for as long as I can remember to map out my dream destinations and eventually real travel plans. But unlike travel itself, that mapping stage was an isolated experience. That the map has now become such an interactive community where we as guides can influence and update it is pretty awesome!

Even when I travel alone, I’m sharing my experience with thousands of others.

On top of that, it makes going places even more rewarding. When I go somewhere and learn something new, sharing that with others gives my trip and experience added meaning.

And that’s what I love doing on Maps: sharing my experiences. Because so much of what makes life great is being able to share it with other people. And just as I love being inspired, I also love inspiring other people to try new things!

I’m hugely curious about all kinds of things, from food and drink to music and martial arts and, as I’m sure many of you can relate, sharing those passions brings me lots of joy.

Not only can I use Maps to find any of these places near me—gyms, restaurants, bars, music venues, nature spots, tours, you name it—I can leave reviews to provide insight to other travelers, give owners tips on how to improve, and help the hidden gems I find to stay in business.

And as a community, I think what we’re doing is really exciting!

In short, what I love sharing on Google Maps are experiences, insights, and passions.

I’m proud to be a local guide and a part of this community.

Cheers!
