I have always been keen and enthusiastic about trying new places, cultures, and cuisines. Each experience started defining what travel and new services mean to me; it is the thrill of experiencing something new, exploring undiscovered gems and relishing the popular tourist spots.
During my early travel experiences as a kid (back in the mid 70s), there were no internet services available and my parents used to read a lot of different magazines & books to get some authenticated information; they spent a lot of time and energy before each vacation. Sometimes those were correct but many times it was a big let down.
I distinctly remember that we went to South India on a 3 weeks tour in the early 80s and being a pure vegetarian family it becomes difficult for us to find good vegetarian restaurants in many of the smaller cities.
That’s when I felt the importance and need to get genuine information and reviews of places and then I also started sharing my 1st hand experiences with people through Google Maps and Local guides since a couple of yers back. I am 51 now and am glad to still get a lot of opportunities to travel to different places around the world and get localised experiences. I try to share my escapades through Google as this gives me a lot of pleasure to inform and explain people. It allows me to not only review a place and share my adventure but also helps in personal documentation of my travel thrills. I feel it helps people define their choices and travel journies, just like me.
