Imagine being in a new environment or location and, as the old adage of having to test the depth of a river with one foot goes, one may gradually want to survey the new environment by going round every nook and cranny in order to get a complete grasp of location - this is time and resources wasting.
On the contrary, one may not really need to test the depth of a river with one foot before making a dive into it. That is, one can actually delve into a completely new environment with the use of Google Maps, only if Google Maps contains all possible location information about such environment.
What joy would be derived on having to find solutions to every problem relating to location services. One would be like a genius, touring an unknown location as if he/she had been there for ages.
But absurdly, I have on several occasions, had to manually directly people to specific locations, some of which are not on Google Maps. Due to this incomplete directional information, I have also had to make more speeches and finger-to-neck demonstrations in trying to show directions to new commuters and scouters.
For instance, a particular place known as The Redeemed Christian Church of God, Floodgates Parish in Durosinmi Etti Drive, is not on Google Maps. Many of such places are missing, and, this is where I passionately derive pleasure as a Local Guide, to make Google Maps eco-friendly by posting photos and writing reviews about such places.
It may also interest you to know that, from the first moment I received an alert from Google that my reviews and photos of The Lekki Central Mosque as well as others were helping people about local information, I became very passionate about posting more reviews and photos of places I have visited.
I never even imagined that Google will be hosting Connect Live 2019, which event, I really desire to attend and connect with other Local Guides.
Aside from intermittent benefits such as Connect Live 2019 from Google, I really love to help individuals having location problems, because I have encountered a few myself.
