I thought that a “local” place would be the starting point for being a “Google Maps Local Guide”, but no, it started with a review at Highlands Coffee Tran Hung Dao, a famous industrial chain coffee shop, which had just opened and had to endure criticism for being in a “golden” location, and at that time the “Iced Lemon Blend” was really bad.
However, it is quite similar to the journey that I have been attached to Google Maps for more than 3 years now, there must have been a difficult beginning or simply being a pioneer for something to develop further (like Highlands pioneering the F&B segment in Phan Thiet so that other brands could enter Phan Thiet), then I also pioneered (probably self-proclaimed) in supporting users or local businesses in the city on Google Maps, something that people are still vague about or even don’t care about.
Looking back on this long journey, I think… it was really interesting and also learned a lot of things, went to many places, learned a lot of things and saw things that only a “Google Maps Local Guide” can see.
So I have achieved the highest level of “Google Maps Local Guide”, there are many experiences that I have learned, helped more people BUT this is not the end but rather the beginning, the beginning of something bigger, more ambitious and wanting to help more people at Google Maps Phan Thiet!!!
