When I started to contribute with my evaluations, I had no idea of the impact this would have on people’s lives.
In the beginning, I started to evaluate only with the stars. I really liked to do that because it was so much fun and so, I went on.
However, one day, I was visiting my parents, in a city called Maricá, state of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, when my boyfriend and I really wanted to have açaí, which is a kind of ice cream made with Brazilian fruit. It is so delicious!
We went to a place called Tigelas’s Açaí, that means Bowl of Açaí.
The açaí was so beautiful, decorated with strawberries, chocolate syrup and whipped cream and this was the reason I decided to take a picture, because I couldn’t lose that moment. And than, it was “the photo” that I posted on the google local guide.
A few days later, I received a notification that my photo had multiple views and that it had helped many people. Almost a thousand people saw my picture. I’ve never had so many views on my social medias. It’s so impressive for me.
I was happy with this news that, since then, I always try to evaluate all the places that I have the opportunity to visit. And mainly, I understood that sending stars, posting photos and captions are essential, because I managed to help many other people and I also helped the establishment, in which, I insist on going back there, every time I can visit Maricá. Being a local guide is a simple way to help while having fun and discovering new places. And for the next connect live 2020, I hope to meet all the local guides from the world to share experiences and stories just like mine.
