Hi there, now I’m here to expose my case of the importance of the information we post like Local Guides.
I am living in Taxco, a small city in Mexico. Taxco is a touristic place because was founded around 1800 and it keeps the structure of the colonialism in Mexico.
When i arrived to the town I did’t know anyone so I used to use Google Maps to found places, food and services like banks. My surprise was despite to be visited by domestic and international tourism, the information in Google Maps has a lot of mistakes, tourism places in a wrong location or places like restaurant that have been closed long time ago but in Maps it appears like there were open because no one update the information.
Google Maps is a powerful tool that helps to know places specially for tourism. I keep using Google Maps but now I try to correct any mistake and write reliable information about places that I visit.
I invite to all the Local Guides to keep update the information of our place, we may help to many people, many times we don’t realize that but is a great help.
To finish I would like to invite all of you to be honest in the opinions and don’t write about only the bad experiences. Remember yours like and your qualification are worth, take care of it and use responsibly.
