The impact of local guide

I will like to tell you a little story of my visit to Abuja. Abuja is Nigerian capital with a teaming population of over 3million. It is located at the middle belt of the country and one of the fastest growing city in Africa. Abuja was made the capital of Nigeria in the year 1993 following an agreement from the federal government of Nigeria seeing that lagos, which used to be the capital of Nigeria is limited in space and infrastructure. Abuja which is growing to a modern city, has so much infrastructural development. It is a place where if you don’t visit for a month or two, you’ll become a stranger when you visit areas you seem to be familiar with. I was to attend an interview with an organisation in January this year (2020). The address was sent to my email and I arrived the city (Abuja) a day before the set date for the interview, this was to enable me meet up the timing for the interview. Reaching abuja that faithful evening, I started making inquiries for the venue of my interview. I got some description from some friends which were not explicit, I now remember that anytime I get to a town or city I’m not too familiar, I use the Google map to search for locations, that evening I search for the location of my interview and the Google map showed me the route to my interview venue. The next day I was set for my interview and my phone was fully charged. I took a cab heading my direction and I on my Google map as i followed the directions. I got to the venue of my interview without asking anyone for direction. This was made possible because of people’s contributions to Google map. All thanks to local guides out there.
