The immigrants, Battery Park

Hello, my friends!

Many interesting things to see in NYC, right?

In one of my travels, I got the chance to walk through Battery Park in NYC and I was gladly surprised by these fascinating statues. Searching about its history I found some facts related to “the immigrant’s statues”.

“Sculptor Luis Sanguino (b. 1934) celebrates the diversity of New York City and the struggle of immigrants in this heroic-sized bronze figural group. The sculpture depicts figures of various ethnic groups and eras, including an Eastern European Jew, a freed African slave, a priest, and a worker. The figures’ expressive poses emphasize the struggle and toil inherent in the experience of the immigrant or dislocated person”. Source: The Battery

Hope you like it! Best wishes!!!

Hello @marcorp ,

Thank you for sharing this amazing location with us, the statues are amazing!

I love such historical monuments and statues depicting a particular era, telling a story.

In Bulgaria, we have many similar statues, but most of them are soldiers, usually commemorating a battle.
