When you think about a more than 328 years old city Kolkata , first few things come to your mind and those are Yellow taxi,hand pulled rickshaw, rosogolla, mishti doi and obviously Victoria Memorial. A large marble building surrounding by a huge garden, built in between 1906 and 1921. Victoria memorial was become the icon of "City of Joy (The other name of Kolkata). As a Google local guide I went there so many times, took pictures and storied on them, shared. If you want to about ancient Kolkata, then you must visit the Kolkata gallery inside the main hall.
Victoria Memorial Garden : This is the best park in Kolkata, located beside Kolkata’s busiest street Jawaharlal Nehru road and Kolkata’s office hot spot Park Street, Maidan and Rabindra Sadan areas. This picturesque park is marked by fountains, lake, flower garden, lovely bushes and trees; making it a wonderful place to morning walks and freshens up. The well paved park is a hotspot for all age groups and a place to experience nature at its best. The outside of the park also has facilities for food stalls, making it the perfect place for all your picnic needs. The park is also a favourite among photographers. They spend hours at this park clicking amazing shots. Entry fee of the “Victoria Memorial Garden, Kolkata” is Rs. 20 only. So go there and enjoy.
