The City of São Paulo carried out a project in 2014 that brought together about 200 artists to graffiti more than 70 walls on 23 de Maio Avenue. There were 15 thousand square meters of murals with urban art … In 2017, graffiti was removed by former city mayor João Dória … The judge of the 12th Public Finance Court, Adriano Marcos Laroca, understood that “the action of the municipal executive power and its former administrator, João Doria, caused damage to cultural heritage”, and condemned the Municipality of São Paulo and the former mayor João Doria (PSDB) to pay an indemnity of R $ 782.3 thousand for the removal of graffiti from the city, especially those from 23 de Maio Avenue

Thank you for sharing this story @Edilmar , I think it’s sad that beautiful street art is still not acknowledged as an art form in so many places.
I hope artist will once again have the chance to create beautiful murals on this street.
I’m letting you know that I have relabelled your post to Local Stories, since it’s about São Paulo in particular. You can read more about the Local Stories label and what we use it for in Welcome to the Local Stories board.
