I really enjoy posting photos of my trips as I discover new places, or add things that people may have not taken notice of. When I come across interesting things I feel the urge to post a review so people have more information and plan their journey better, or perhaps know what to bring with them. I have learned through experiences (both bad and good) that somethings are just better being unpredictable, as Sydney’s weather.
When I moved to Sydney I stayed at a Hostel, which I found to be in a very convenient location, but there was one issue: heaps of stairs and there was me carrying 2 extra-large bags with all my belongings; things like this made me realise that little pieces of information can make a difference. And by sharing these pieces of wisdom I feel a sense of belonging as well as being useful for someone else.
As I become more familiar with this city, I’ve noticed places that not many people visit, one of these is Hyde Park, and the very first night I got lost and my phone was acting funny (completely forgot to update the off line maps, never again!), and in the middle of the chaos I found this place, and the sense of people just calmly seated or walking, having a coffee, made me turn around to appreciate my surroundings:
I think that when we work together we can build a better community, a good example of this was when a group of friend we’re having a picnic at Mrs Macquarie’s Chair, somebody needed helped in the preparation to drop the big question to his girlfriend:
Who would have thought that place as a proposing place! Or to have a picnic, and even better to watch the sunset! This is another example of how sharing is important, as pieces of missing information are being added on maps, suddenly everything is more familiar to you. So keep an eye open for the unexpected and don’t be afraid to step out of your comfort zone, even if that means that you may ended up having fun just like us that day!
