I recently received an upgrade to expert photographer only a few days ago. And as quickly as I received that perk, my status was RETURNED to novice photographer. Is that shift in one’s status a usual occurrence for the experience of a local guide?

@Phillip1 Badges are tied to contribution counts. And for most part, contributions are accumulative, but there are situations where contributions may go down slightly.
For example, but not limited to
-
A place no longer exists and is removed from Maps. The photos and views there no longer count towards contributions.

Reviews and photos that are flagged by the system or by other users and are made private. The photos, reviews, views no longer count towards contributions
I personally won’t worry too much about borderline movement of points because as we continue to contribute, our points will eventually go up and higher badges will be obtained.
