Being a local guide is a great feeling. I keep travelling all around the globe by profession and for vacations. Whenever I travel, I look for the local best things. (Could be food, Place to stay, visit or a point of interesting local stories). Sometimes I succeed to find the best local spots but sometimes not.
Mostly I rely on Google maps to get help to find these best spots. and then I realise my responsibility to share my experiences and findings to make this (Google Maps) more echo friendly and I would love to make my contribution as much as possible.
Now I would love to share some interesting things and facts about my native Place Kakinada, Andhra Pradesh India (where I am born and brought up). This is a quite cool and peaceful place. Very spiritual and rich in cultural happenings. I see people over here are vey friendly and true in heart. They follow the great Sanskrit verse “Athidhi Devo Bhava” (means Guests are like Gods).
Many temples with in town with historic prominence like Bhavannararayana swamy temple Sarpavaram, Kukkuteswara swamy temple Pithapuram are very spiritually happening places. And this town is surrounded by 4 Pancharama Kshetras. 2 Kshetras (Draksharama & Kumarama, Samarlkota) are in the radius of 20 Kms. 2 Kshetras (Somarama, Bhimavaram & Ksheerarama, Palakollu are just 100 Kms away.
Famous Temple Sri Veera Venkata Sathyanarayana Swamy Vari Devasthanam (Annavaram) is just 40 Kms away from this town.
This town is also rich in cultural aspects. Sarswathi Gana Sabhalu is very famous cultural festival that keeps happening during Dushera festival. This cultural fest started during 1894 to promote traditional arts like Karnatic Music and indian dance forms Like Bharatanatyam, Kuchipudi, etc. Every year they invite very prominent and scholars in these areas and make them perform during this 10 days cultural festival. M.S. Subbalkshmi, Balamurali Krishna, Sobha Naidu, Yeela pata Raghuramiah are few to name who used to perform here.
This town had produced many prominent Movie celebrities like Suryakantham (Actress), Anjali devi (Actress), Adiseshgirirao (Music Director), Rao gopalarao (Acter), Relangi (Actor Comedian)
This town is also famous for food. Especially Seafood & Sweets like Kottiah Khaja, Atreyapuram Pootarekulu, Thapeswaram Madata Khaja, Kothapeta Palakova.
I would love to mention many more interesting things in this town like cinema road, Beach, Korangi forest, Subiah Hotel, etc. If I keep mentioning them, this post would become a wiki page. So I stop here. But I can try to respond for any questions to help explore this place.
