Baiturrahman Great Mosque Banda Aceh, is a mosque that has a lot of history, which is now the most popular mosque located in the heart of the Nanggro Aceh Darussalam Province. The name of the Baiturrahman Mosque originated from the name of the Great Mosque which was built by Sultan Iskandar Muda in 1022 H / 1612 M. This grand mosque was indeed first built by the government of Sultan Iskandar Muda. and has been burned out in the Dutch army aggression on the moon of 1290 / April 1873 AD The Baiturrahman Grand Mosque is ready to be rebuilt in 1299 Hijrah begins with one dome. In 1935 AD, the Baiturrahman Grand Mosque added a right and left side with two domes. And in 1975 it was expanded again by adding two more domes and two towers to the north and south. The Baiturrahman Great Mosque has five domes and was completed in 1967 AD And in 1991 AD, in the time of Governor Ibrahim, the front and back pages of the mosque were also developed. The mosque section was issued by two domes, the mosque floor of the prayer room, library room, living room, office space, hall and place of prayer. front yard, garden and parking lot and one main tower and two towers. When the earthquake and tsunami (December 26, 2004) destroyed most of Aceh, this mosque survived without significant damage and many city residents survived here.
