The Google Global Guide

This is a question that I asked myself about a year ago, and as a result, I prefer to be called “Google Global Guide” instead of local. Why? Because I have been traveling for the past 6 years and from the moment I discovered this App I adopted immediately as a necessity for finding and sharing the cool places that I discovered on my way.

I haven’t had the opportunity to stay longer than a year in one single place. That is the reason I have assumed the concept of been “nomad” completely. Digital nomad to be more precise so in between looking and researching for tools for helping me finding a good hostel, a good restaurant, the best beach or the best bar around, there was nothing better than Google Maps and then came up local guides, so I assume the role of a recommender as an occupation.

I remember perfectly well one time that I spoke with a small business owner about her restaurant and how I could help her to promote it, just because her food was incredibly tasty and inexpensive. That was in Bali. I wrote, “Best place to taste real Balinese food and fresh “real” natural juices”. I feel really proud of that because I can see a lot of people going today to eat here. Not just because of me but I did a little bit to help.

So then using the App became a habit. Off course good and cool places are obvious, but there is also not so good ones. And also here the role of good local guides played a super important role.

For people like me and I’m pretty sure for people who love traveling, checking google maps and the ratings of any place is a must.
