The expiration date of Google Store promotion code

The email format of the gift email from Local Guides has a lot of room to improve.

It says the promotion code’s expiration date is 01/31/2023., so I thought the code is valid until the end of 1/31 local time.

When I tried to redeem the code to place a purchase in the evening of 01/31, the store said the code had been expired. I tried again, and still failed. So I went back to read the email again, and found a very tiny note hidden in the footer of the email, saying "The code must be redeemed by 3:59pm on 01/31 (Taiwan local time).

All I could say is It is an incredibly stupid email format.

How could you place such important information in a place that is so easy to be overlooked?

On the contrary, the promotion code sent from Google Store shows its expiration date and time very clearly, right in the body of the email.

I sent my complaint to Google Store, but they said they could help me with nothing, for the code was sent by Local Guides but not them.

So disappointed and thank the poor email design for ruining a possible business deal with Google Store.

My opinion on you it’s your mistake I am thinking because you have soo excited and you can’t readed the full mail of you received. From now I creating few rules for this (not only for you in future for all)

  1. Please read full mail with time, date, expiry (TDE).
  2. Don’t waste the time redeem it fast (if you not interested to see TDE). If you not redeem it in time and if you losed it then it’s not the Local Guides mistake!
  3. You will exited when it’s you received because it’s the local guides hard work and we will be exited 100% it’s very happiness moment but also you need to active for seeing all TDE if you think where it’s will go i will claim/redeem it after sometime it’s problem to you only you have chances to loss you redeem.
  4. The Expiry will not end fast it’s stay until 1 month (i think) also you can get 1 day redeem like that.

Sorry if I am wrong on this rules. I am not created this rules for only 1 members it’s for all who can redeems in future they must see this and this rules.

Do you think people read every email fully from top to bottom? I truly doubt it.

Especially when you already receive the information in the content: the redeem code and the expiration date.

Also, will you put important information such as the expire time in tiny font size and squeeze it into the footer?

That’s not the right way to write an email. At least I won’t do that.

If you happen to read the email from Google Store, you will see my point.

They clearly put the redeem code and the expire date and TIME right in the main content.

BTW, why I waited until the last day to redeem the code?

It’s because I was wondering maybe Google might release new products to Taiwan store as the time went by.

If so, I then could have more choices to decide what to buy.

FYI, Taiwan store doesn’t have as many products as US one does.

I think you have understood what i said the rules? It is your responsibility to read full of mail because who’s know there is more information about the topic, and the expiry will be mentioned small only? because any important message (personal)/secrets it will be sent in last only not inthe main topic. I think not only google all the companies also send the mail like this only. If my message not helpful or any mistakes in my message please be patience until the moderator help you.
