So I recently had a great trip to Iceland with the hopes of seeing the Northern Light…(more on that later)
I travelled with my siblings and we opted to do a road trip as it would give us more freedom with our schedule and times. We had spent a great deal of time planning on things we would like to see, waterfalls natural landmarks, the capital Reykjavik of course.
We spent a night in the capital to acclimatise to the weather and just adjust. In November the Sun comes up late and the days short but everything is open and the bakeries are fabulous! The church hallgrimskirkja is a sight to behold and a must see!
We then went to the National Park which is a day trip in itself. Then to the Geyser (standing for ages to get a slomo of the gushing!), followed by the waterfalls. Nature is on show in this amazing country and just WOW!
We stayed in some great places a horse farm and a cottage in the middle of nowhere!
Sadly the northern lights eluded us, its on of those things where the conditions have to be right but keep an eye out on the KP index and times of year. But to be honest it would have just been the icing to what was an amazing trip.
