The Egyptian Characteristic Sandwich (Kebda Eskandarany)

Every Country has its own characteristic street food like Currywurst in Germany and Baklava in Turkey, but in Egypt almost all famous street food dishes are not characteristic for Egypt and they could not be considered Egyptian cuisine,
Falafel, for example, are a local dish in almost all Middle East countries especially Lebanon and Syria, Koushary also is a local dish from India and it reached Egypt with Indian soldiers during the WWI.

There is a real street food which I consider one of the most characteristic Egyptian cuisines even it had been named after the Alexandria which considered the second capital of Egypt after Cairo, it’s called “Kebda Eskandarany” or “Beef Liver with the Alexandrian recipe”, it’s simply sandwich of buffalo’s liver slices grilled in cooking oil with garlic, chilli pepper and some secret spices which made it tastes amazing, unfortunately not all restaurants in Egypt cook it with same amazing taste you can experience in Alexandria,

I think that No one had visited Alexandria and tried that sandwich, Which made me always recommend it to anyone asks me about our Egyptian cuisine, I used to review Restaurants that serve the “Kebda Eskandarany” sandwich in English so I could encourage foreigners and travellers to try it.

The sandwich recipe is very simple but also very tasty.

Here is the location of one of the restaurants that cook that sandwich with its original taste.
