The Denmark Tavern

This may look like an average restaurant, but The Denmark Tavern is anything but!

It was on by bucket list for a long time. So on my way back home from college, I wandered into here, and was immediately greeted by the friendly staff and an incredible fragrance.

I ordered Danish roast chicken (boneless) with vegetables and jus, Fish fry and Cold Coffee with ice-cream.

The Danish roast chicken(boneless) with vegetables and jus was very soft and juicy, and the sauce served with it was perfect and unique. The Fish fry was very crispy, the french fries being the best side serve with it. The Cold Coffee with ice-cream was really yummy and soothing.

The staff is very friendly and courteous.

This is a riverside cafe, which is a 235 year old renovated Danish tavern and hotel. The outside is painted in yellow with green windows.
The interior is very spacious. The ambience and decor is very lit and bright, and has a photogenic setting.

This place is good for groups, friends, couples and families. The food is really very rates are quite pocket friendly.

To reach here, take a toto or rickshaw ride from Serampore Railway Station, and get down at Roy Ghat. It’s a 2 minutes walk from here.

This looks really nice @AbhinabaS , and I can recognise those dishes from my local cafe in Denmark.

The fried fish with french fries is still a very popular choice when eating out in traditional restaurants, however we usually eat it with a kind of relish called “remoulade”. It’s delicious!

What is that sauce that you had with the fish?
