The Daughter of Ocean

Hello Google!

I’m Syed Julker Naim, a Level-7 Local Guide from Madaripur, Bangladesh.

I started my local guide journey for a long time. I remembered that when I search my own College in Google Maps but didn’t find that, from then I start my contribution to Google Maps.

As a Local Guide of Google, I contribute daily something new. Whenever I go anywhere, I try to add unknown places to Google Maps. When I travel to various places, I search on Google Maps about that place & add new things on Maps.

Sometimes, I check that many places are wrongly added on Google Maps. I request for correction to Google Maps Authority. I think many people benefit from my contribution. When local peoples, travelers both local & foreigners travel to my locality or nearly places, they must be benefited from the Google Maps. That’s why I add new places & correct the wrongly added places.

Recently, I travel to Kuakata (The Daughter of Ocean). This is the 2nd Big Tourist Spot in Bangladesh after Cox’s Bazar.

This place is situated Southeastern Part of Bangladesh.

From here you can watch an unbelievable full view of both Sunrise & Sunset from the same white sandy beach in the water of the Bay of Bengal.

The Kuakata place has been named from the Bengali word “Kua”, which English lexical means “Well”, which was dug on the seashore by the early Rakhine for collecting drinking water.

They landed on the Kuakata coast in the 18th century after being expelled from Arakan (Myanmar) by the Mughals. Afterward, it has become a tradition of digging wells in the neighborhoods of Rakhine tribes for water. The Kuakata is also famous for some of the most significant reasons for the tourists.

One of the special reasons for this is the dry fish. The dried fish which is not made anywhere else in the world except in this region of Bangladesh.

There is also a local market for tourists with the natural beauty of the night.

One of my favorite hobbies is contributing to Google Maps. I always want to help people by showing the right way. When people are unable to find the right road, I get very disappointed. I search for places which aren’t finding on Google Maps and contribute them to Google Maps correctly.

My home district Madaripur is a very small district in Bangladesh of just 1,145 square kilometers. Madaripur has a few sights, which are really very interesting for the tourists. Some of these places are notable.

  1. Hazrat Shah Mother Dargah Sharif
  2. Sakuni Lake
  3. Eco Park
