Sharing information about the places that I visit and helping others to enjoy them, is something really rewarding. Specially in Venezuela, where the access to internet is limited, the updated and reliable information is not always easy to find, the growing businesses have difficulties when trying to use new technologies and powerful tools such as Google Maps. That is why I’ve found on Maps an easy and fast way to share my experiences helping others to know the marvelous and jewels that are hidden in my country. Sometimes I visit a park, an institution or a restaurant, discovering that there are very few or nothing of information about it on internet, that is when I have the chance to collaborate and share those details that will be useful for the next visitor. So the challenge is double, for the owner or administrators of the place that you are talking about and for you as a local guide, you have to deal with slow internet connections, areas with not coverage, lack of information about the place, people reluctant to share details and more. That makes a review of a new place a journey to find details such as an accurate address or contact information, updated operating hours, new photos or videos, and even stories told by owners or tips to enjoy the place. I feel that it is helpful for both visitors and the businesses. I love what I do using Google Maps being an active local guide in Venezuela, even when it is a challenge.
