The business Thoughtful Moving broke privacy terms

@GeorgesHR

The owner of Thoughtful Moving in Clearwater Florida replied to a poor review on Google Maps with the complainant’s private home address in his comment. https://www.google.com/appserve/mkt/p/AFnwnKWdoZXoeejJs95nkcmlque6Uv71Eq7CzqlCmLDfkGEqBwLXZ9xgvKnzZPFa5yn7YGVF0ZKvDU49NTdgV0PNAUlv7xZy-kcPgWguw-8cPMppQIRF7yANx-iDwR869uoTxzVHOreaW_54CT0vLgJnx3m0UbOu16qgmwJnGKhCy6xRE8yQMSeBEeaWr-rhuKQY2HFcwOt_kqgKIA47P6XA2hf_JGyhkVZ5gGuOJ_np16VTl2t1Oeds6ju0L7EmACF5JBKvlEaagla_MIKxSM2Q9pP1nqd_QlktxM79m27Aht50Rq3ElptiSFa0vKdmUSNRdRDXVdmo75LDjurzyWUr

I support you, @tinapleez

And I think you will win this easily.

Good luck.

@tinapleez

I believe there is a double mistake in here.

Of course the violation of your privacy is the big mistake that the business owner made.

On the other side, a scam should be reported to the local authorities, not on a review.

Thanks for your support. I’m pretty fragile right now, and I need help.

Thanks for the tip Ernest. For some reason, I didn’t think about police. I mean, this guy seems dangerous and I already have to leave all the lights on now. Do you have the ability to delete what the owner wrote?

Hi @ErmesT

I have one query.
In the case of own contributions, is it not possible to delete a problematic review after the business owner has appended a rejoinder?
Further, is it not possible for that LG to hide all the reviews till the time the objectionable one gets removed?

Of course, @C_T , @tinapleez

It is always possible to edit or delete a review.

I just made a test with one of my last reviews, that have a reply from the owner

Hello @tinapleez , thank you for reaching out to us and I am sorry for your experience.

Please bear in mind that Local Guides program is for individuals and we cannot take care of problem related with business owners. So I would like to recommend you to reach out directly to Google My Business help center and they will help you with this case.

Thank you. It was difficult, but I managed to find this in Google My Business: Report personal or confidential information in a business site

but the problem is that it won’t accept the very long URL of the exact review that I’m trying to report. It looks like the only thing to do is delete my review in order to delete the business owner’s response. Even though the terms of Business pages are listed, I can’t figure out how to report violations. So, how is the “Response from the owner” portion of my review addressed directly by the Google admin to the business to cease their abuse?

And I also found this in the Legal Help section: Report other legal removal issue but I already removed the review so I didn’t try it.

I ended up going through my Google One access to quickly chat with an agent, and she gave me instructions to file complaints about this moving scam company with the FTC and the State Attorney General. So, I did that.

Thank you. I have been reaching out to as many Google resources as I could find, so I also tried here. I did go to that help center link, but there is no direct way to report a business for their replies to customers. The one page that offers you to report a business that reveals confidential information on their website only allows links to the business website in the submittal form. When I put the long link to the Google Maps review, the submission gave an error and asked for the business website.

Hello @tinapleez , this indeed is an unpleasant experience. I would suggest you to contact Google My Business directly. There is an ongoing threat: How can I flag the business owners extremely derogatory comment regarding my review?, please feel free to check it.

Just to remind you, remember to use the @ and the name of the Local Guide you’re replying to so that they can see your message. Otherwise it might get lost.
