The big wolf that found Google Maps

There was once a wolf with a fierce hunger who wanted to eat well and found an app called Google Maps, where he found he could search for restaurants and see reviews from knowledgeable Local Guides…

Maybe I am myself that big bad wolf because I see myself reflected in his search on Google Maps for places to eat well during my travels around the world.

Google Maps was born to change my way of traveling in many aspects. Something that is part of my day to day when I travel and also when I am at home.

Go on a trip without using Google Maps? Possibly, but today it is difficult for me. If I could choose an application for travel right now, without hesitation it would be this app, which gets me out of trouble so many times.

Adapt to changes

Google Maps is becoming more complete and dynamic especially now with its new features that help me not only me but also thousands of people through my contributions, a multiplier effect to facilitate adventures on our planet.

While writing this post, I received the congratulation email for attaining level 8 in the Local Guides program which made me very happy. While this news may perhaps be irrelevant to others, for me it is very rewarding because I know that thanks to my reviews, photos, and travel lists, I am helping many travelers to make a decision based on what I upload to the application. These things are good motivation because I also know that through technology you can do good.

My first Meetup

In the month of March 2019, I organized my first #LocalGuides meetup in Malaga (Where I currently live). The cultural tour (urban art and gastronomy) went better than I thought since I was very nervous.

#LocalGuides in Málaga (Spain).

With this first experience, I am thinking about doing other routes in the next few months, because with our talks and contributions we also create a better world, as through honest reviews we can encourage more restaurants, hotels, bars, and other businesses to improve products and services, as well as their customer service.

You can see the post in Spanish with more details via this link.

More than an application

What began as an app to tell us where we were and where to go, Google Maps has become an application that helps more than we can believe doing its bit to improve the economy, to facilitate travel, to put on the map solidarity projects, to give visibility to places for people with reduced mobility, to make places for vegans and vegetarians, etcetera, etcetera, etcetera.

As far as I am concerned, and as I said above, I am happy that with my contributions, travelers from the world can make a decision and this encourages me to continue sharing, teaching other #LocalGuides to improve their photos, to take advantage of the app in their adventures around the world and something more than complementing the publications in my travel blog that I invite you to read.

A big hug from Malaga, my beloved Local Guides of the world!
