Do you like brownies? I like it so much. I tried brownies in different cafes and restaurants but every time I was looking for perfect taste - not too sweet but very chocolate, ideal form and “”light” flavor. And I found it!
One year ago one couple opened a small cafe in the old part of Kyiv - Podil. They sell only brownies and drinks - coffee, tea and cacao.
I was really surprised when I visited this place. Very friendly atmosphere and… tasty. You can find dozen types of brownies there - from classic to special taste (cherry and DorBlue or salt caramel and cheese California).
I have one problem - I never can’t stop when I order food. I’m sure that I’m very hungry and I buy a lot. I ordered three brownies - classic, with salt caramel and cheese California, witn pear and cinnamon. Oh it was so tasty! But I couldn’t eat all of it and I took it home.
Why is this place special? Of course, because of awesome brownies. But not only therefore. If you know we have a war between Ukraine and Russia (and Russia supported militants). And the creator of this place fought in war for 14 months. And now he helps other people who come back from the war and for people who had to leave their home in Donbas (it’s the East of Ukraine) and Ukrainian Crimea. He gives a job for them and sends 10% of profit to families of Ukrainian soldiers who died in the war. From April 2014 to the end of 2018, about 13,000 people were killed in Donbas hostilities, according to the UN Monitoring Mission on Human Rights.
I’m very happy that I found perfect brownies and perfect human dignity.
