I admit it, I am addicted to Matcha green tea!
At first, matcha may taste strange as it has a strong flavor, but after a couple of tries it is so easy to get addicted to it (believe me, I never liked any tea before trying this one).
There is a small and cozy café in Barcelona called ‘Usagui Café’, which is my favorite place in the city to go. They offer many different types of Japanese desserts such as cakes (even some vegan ones), mochis, melonpan amongst others; and a huge variety of teas. It’s also a perfect place to have lunch or dinner because they also offer some Japanese dishes, usually having 3 menus to choose from.
I use to order a matcha latte and any cake (all of them are equally delicious so there is no wrong choice!). I especially love matcha cakes that also have azuki (red bean), it is the most delightful combination.
Evry time I go to Usagui I feel like traveling to Japan again, because not only the food is excellent but also the decoration and the friendly staff create the perfect atmosphere.
I can only thank Usagui Café’s team for bringing a little piece of Japan to Barcelona!
