What’s the advantage of becoming a Google Local Guide??
Hi @Utibens :
That’s a great question! And welcome to the Local Guides Connect Forum.
Local Guides is a voluntary program and many people participate in it because they want to be able to help others via the Google Maps platform.
Sometimes, there are perks available and it will vary from time to time and from region to region. It depends on who the Google partners are. There may also be special and/or early access to Google features. You can read more about it on the official support page found here.
You can also read a bit about this on this page “Why be a Local Guide?”
@Utibens welcome to Connect Forum
My name is Emeka and I live in Lagos. In addition to the information @Shirley has given to you, I would tell you that Local Guides Programme has changed my life. From volunteering to add places on the map, I have visited great places in Lagos and across Nigeria. I have also met people from different parts of the world
The programme has also given me opportunity to help businesses, organizations and people with disability through my map contributions.
It would be great if you can do this, as well, in Uyo!
If you need more clarifications do send me a private message so we exchange contacts.
@Shirley thanks for welcoming Utibems.
