I got around to giving reviews on google was because I have a Gmail account and I love reading people’s comments/reviews about a place I am about to go or do. I like the visibility of the review too, you type in a location, the google review is there, you just add and give stars.
I live in Perth. This picture was taken from Mounts Bay Road in Crawley.
I am sharing on google because it is user friendly, and I know how it’s like to be on the other side of the token. When I look up information for a place I am not familiar with, I wanna know details, surroundings, some pictures to visualise. Opinion of others who have been there. Recent experience was Transit Link office in Singapore as my travel card (ezlink) had expired, I found mixture of answer, but hey I found some answers, instead of no information at all.
One time, I couldn’t find a google review for a location, I asked a friend and she found it for me. How she did, she went to google maps! I am applying for Connect Live 2019, if I get selected I would be able to learn more, like how to add google review (how to add a new place?)
So thanks GOOGLE! The title ‘local guide’ though, can mislead. I was in Jakarta looking up info for this one particular place. I clicked on a ‘local guide’ person, and all the person left on most reviews was rating, no descriptions. For me, merely giving stars doesn’t help, I always put descriptions, as short as ‘it’s a nice place’. Places which give me more impressions (either it be bad or good) I will write longer reviews
