During my visit to the holy city of Medina, I had the opportunity to visit the beautiful Quba mosque. This mosque has a special place in the heart of every Muslim due to its associated with the prophet Muhammad (PBUH). This is the first mosque built by the prophet Muhammed (PBUH) up on his migration to Medina. It is also considered as the second largest and eminent mosque in Medina after the Prophet’s Mosque. It is usual for the pilgrims to visit this holy mosque during their stay in Medina. According to several sources, 622 AD was the founding date of the mosque right after prophet Muhammed (PBUH) arrived on his emigration from holy capital of Saudi Arabia, Makkah. This mosque is situated on the outskirts of Medina. There are 7 major entrances and 12 supplementary ones and separate praying areas are reserved for ladies.
For pilgrims interested in visiting this mosque from the prophet mosque they can hire the personal taxis or sharing vans from the exit of Gate #6, the personal taxis will charge 10 SAR/family and the sharing van will charge 2 SAR per passenger for one way trip. It is easy to hire taxis/vans from Quba mosque to the prophet mosque.
