The banks of the Kumbuk river - Kumana park Sri Lanka

The Kumbuk river flows through the Kumana wildlife park that borders Yala. The park is 391km away from Colombo in the south east. Takes about 5 to 6 hours to reach here from Colombo. Best is to arranging your own transport because getting here using public transport is difficult. Early morning or evening are the best times to visit the park.

Hey @CharithaJB ,

Thanks for introducing this peaceful place. I love the greens all around the place and the fact that you can enjoy wildlife. Is fishing allowed in the river? Can you do any interesting activities like canoeing, for example?

By the way, check out this post, I think it will be an interesting read for you Using color to make your photos stand out.

Thank you very much @MoniDi . No boating or fishing is allowed inside the park. This is to secure the park from poachers residing closer to the park who can abuse this to enter the park illegally for poaching. Visitors are not allowed to get off their vehicles inside the park other than in designated resting areas like where I took these photos, bordering the Kumbuk river. Yala park adjoining Kumana has the highest leopards density in the world and leopard skins are valuable worldwide this is why these parks are strictly protected.

Thanks for the link @MoniDi . I found a lot of useful information in there!
