The Australian state of Victoria is covered by an adult-oriented business

Hi everyone,

For some reason when following this link (warning: shows pictures of women in suggestive poses): https://goo.gl/maps/r4eLiftFUdZQRCLHA

This happens:

Why is a business covering a whole state? How to correct this?

Also when clicking the label of Victoria state, the French description is about the city of Victoria in British Columbia, Canada:

I do not know how to have it corrected as well. In English the correct description is displayed (Victoria state).

Thanks.

Hi @L-C

This is how Service Area Businesses show up on Google Maps.

It is intended for all kinds of businesses that don’t have a physical place for customers to visit. Examples include locksmiths and air duct cleaning services.

Unless strippers are illegal in Victoria (which I doubt they are) this listing is not violating any Guidelines. Except perhaps the photo guidelines.

Cheers

Hi @MortenCopenhagen thank you for the information. I wasn’t aware about this kind of business representation.

@AdamGT if this is correct then no action is needed for this part. The second part about the wrong description is still valid.

Yes, thank you @L-C . When I looked at this it seemed to me that the issue could be due to your geo location!

@L-C this as the others have mentioned is normal for a Service Area business on Google Maps. They are set up via Google Business Profile outside of Maps but show on Maps. As this kind of business is perfectly legal in Victoria they are allowed on Maps as are brothels and similar adult service businesses.
