Hello Everyone,
This is Sanath from BLR, IND. I work as a Technical Support analyst in DXC. So this is my first post here and I am new to the connect workspace. Once I logged in, I started seeing pictures and stories related to food, travel, photography. Amazing work from google which connects like-minded people to view and share each other’s experience.
Today I would like to share my thoughts on what I love most sharing on Google Maps. I would definitely say its the Pictures & Reviews. I feel this is what is going to help others when they look out for anything on google maps, be it a restaurant, Ice Cream parlor or travel destination. There were many instances when I look out for something in the Google Maps and I don’t find any pictures of that place.
That will give others the virtual tour in advance and prepare themselves before landing on that destination. There is a temple a few meters away from Home and it was not added in the Google Maps.
So I just clicked a couple of pictures, uploaded it on maps with all required info and now it’s there, hence now I use it as a landmark to order foods in Swiggy and Ubereats ?
I am going to share my travel review here along with my Trek pictures. Recently I took on a Life changing adventure experience in Nepal.
I trekked the most popular trekking destinations in the world The Annapurnas.
I decided to trek in the winters as I would get to see the clear Mountain Views. On Dec 20th, 2018, Boarded the flight from BLR - KTM. Once the flight entered Nepal airspace I got to see the mighty Himalayan range standing tall and bold with Ice capped snow toppings :D, which gave an instant excitement and a broad smile.
I couldn’t find any pictures on maps, which was completely focused on Mountain views as I would see people also in it. Hence I decided to capture stunning pictures only focusing the mighty mountains The Annapurna Range
Decided to take up this trek in December, starting winter season in Nepal, Boarded the Flight BLR-KTM on Dec 20, 2018. Soon after touching down in Kathmandu, collected the baggage and headed straight to collect the trekking permits. Stayed the first night at Thamel, Kathmandu and explored some pubs, had good food and drinks as the Christmas Eve mood was On.
Started the trek next day from Nayapul and the trail started to become steep. With 12.5 kg of the rucksack bag, it felt heavier as the altitude increased, but I loved the chill thin air.
The trek lasted for 8 days. We reached Ghorepani with great difficulty seriously. It was one the toughest treks I have ever been to, as it requires some decent physical fitness
Ended up staying 2 nights in Ghorepani and lost time to reach the Base camp as we forgot to plan a buffer day as a backup (Facepalm).
Resumed the trek following the map and trek trail en route to Tadapani, and got to capture the Mountains with their natural filter.
We finally reached our next stop Tadapani where we got to capture the mountains during their Orange Hour(the sunset time), glittering on their Own Natural filter. The temperature was dropping quickly and without realizing it, with just a shirt and a short, I was standing outside just looking at these mountains. My legs started to get a bit numb and I quickly got into my room at the stay to cover up
It was a life-changing experience and people who have trekked the Annapurnas would definitely like to go back and trek like me, which is not just a trekking destination, but we get to meet new people who come from all over the world, exchange experiences, get to experience the Nepali culture and food.
I have not seen any pictures focusing only on the mountains with their natural filters, hence I decided to click these pictures. I love sharing pictures and I will keep doing it as people can get to see what they are going to experience with an excitement. “One Picture Worth a million words”
