The former large NDSM Shipyard in Amsterdam has been transformed into a Post-Industrial Artistic area. Still rough edged, there are now some ten trendy restaurants and even a few good hotels, such as the budget Botel, the comfortable Hilton DoubleTree NDSM, and the outrageous crane hotel Faralda. The area can easily be reached by free ferry marked NDSM from Amsterdam Central Station.
