The Buddha Park at Ravangla, Sikkim is one of the amazing attraction in Sikkim. It was constructed in 2006 to celebrate 2550th birth anniversary of Lord Buddha. The mesmerizing view surrounded by a beautiful ambience makes it a popular tourist attractions of South Sikkim.
My wife and I visited Sikkim last year in the month of June where we witnessed this mesmerizing beauty. We stayed at a homestay(Replee Homestay) at Namthang (located near Namchi) and from there we availed car (service provided by the homestay owner) to reach this amazing place. It is about 46 km from Namthang (Route map). There is an entry fee of Rs.50/- per person and car parking charge of Rs.20/-. The entry fee is half for the army and similar Central Government Officers. The place is open for the public from 9 am to 5 pm. Battery operated e-vehicles are available for people who may face difficulty to cover the entire area by foot. The whole place is also wheelchair accessible. The park is about 1km from the Ravangla Bus Stop.
Apart from the beautiful ambience, you will be filled with a sense of peace with the continuous chant of Buddham Sharanam Gachchami mantra. The park area is beautifully landscaped creating ample walkway, gardens and space for visitors to enjoy the serene surroundings. There is a huge Prayer Hall along with a museum and a meditation center. Inside the museum, a spirally constructed gallery demonstrates the life of Gautama Buddha in two different styles.
There are few souvenir shops within the park compound as well as few eateries which give an allround satisfaction.
Please also add useful information like how to reach, parking facility, entry fees, best time of the year to visit, etc. for local guides who plan to visit here.
Also, I suggest removing one of the photos since they are nearly similar.
That is great to hear that your visit to Ravangla Buddha Park was an amazing one. It is undoubtedly one of the greatest attractions in Sikkim. I am glad that the homestay you stayed at provided you with service to reach this place easily. It’s also great to know that they offer concessions for central government officers. It would have been an incredibly peaceful experience with the chant of Buddham Sharanam Gachchami mantra and the beautifully landscaped gardens. I would definitely love to experience it someday. Have you visited Mahabodhi Mahavihara at Bodh Gaya in Bihar? You can read my post about it by clicking here. Thank you @Kausik_Bhunia for sharing your beautiful post with us.
Recently visited there in May 2023. Stayed in Budha Park residency which is best for staying there. Because if u stay in that Hotel u may reach Buddha as and when u want either it is early morning or late night without giving any entrance fees.
@dbsukamal Staying close to the Biddha park must have been an amazing experience, isn’t it? I really loved the ambience of the park. It is one of the best places in Sikkim.
