Like many Filipinos, I have this immense love for pastas. For this matter, I’d like to share my pasta experiences to everyone who reads Local Guides Connect.
As a child growing up in different countries, food was always the reason why I was one of my late grandmother’s favorite grandsons. She loved cooking and she loved making me taste a little of whatever she was cooking straight from her spatula. Her favorite dish to prepare was pasta, and for that matter, I grew up becoming a pasta connoisseur.
You know, I think you can never really appreciate eating pastas without knowing how to cook or prepare a good one. As i got older, i can say I’m pretty happy with the way the pastas i cook/cooked taste.
So for my Top 5 Best Pastas in Manila, i recommend the following restaurants:
1.) A Veneto Pizzeria - You can come here for the pizza but make sure you order the pasta. There’s one along Visayas Avenue in Quezon City, and one at SM Mall of Asia.
2.) Sbarro - If you’re craving a big serving of lasagna or alfredo, this is the place to be. The Calzones are not bad but you need to grab that pasta. There’s a Sbarro, i think inside every SM Mall. I’m not a huge fan of malls but if you’re looking for a place to walk and shop, and eat pastas, the mall is the place to go to.
3.) The Shrimp Shack - This is not mainly a pasta restaurant but i guarantee you their pasta is right up there as one of the best 5 in the game of carbo-loading.
4.) Bistro Ravioli - If not the best on my list, i think it’s the second best. The marinara sauce here tastes so authentic.
5.) New York Slice Pizza - You better find this place. The pizza is great because the crust tastes a little like pandesal but the pastas are one of the best. And you know what, they’re not even expensive!
Maybe you can add a few more restaurants on my list… I’m open to suggestions and tasting all the pastas all over the world!
