It’s International Small Business Week, and what better time to appreciate the many amazing Local Guides who support small businesses in their neighborhoods, cities, and countries on Google Maps. Over the past year, we’ve seen you tirelessly exchange tips, host virtual and offline meet-ups, order food deliveries, share the stories of owners, and more.
Today, we’re shining the spotlight on two such dedicated Local Guides.
** @StephenAbraham , Level 10**
Stephen is always on the lookout for opportunities to support small businesses in Malaysia. He’s shared incredible posts about restaurants in Kuala Lumpur, hosted virtual meet-ups, and even done fun food experiments. Earlier this year, he also introduced the #LocalGuidesForSmallLocalBusiness initiative. Have you joined yet?
With more than 70 lists and hundreds of business updates on Google Maps, Stephen is well on his way to building “a local map” while “helping and promoting small local businesses,” as he says on his profile.
** @Niv1234 , Level 8**
A few months ago, Niv told us about Karina, a coffee truck owner who bravely followed her passion in uncertain times. Since then, the Local Guide has reviewed and added photos to several more coffee trucks in Israel as well as small shops, home wineries, family-owned businesses, and more.
“I’m trying to be more active as a Local Guide because, now more than ever, small businesses need us,” Niv says. From sandwiches and cocktails to the best coffee, he can recommend a local place in Tel Aviv-Yafo to suit every taste.
