It all began with sparkle!, for a long time I have always wanted to try a solo traveling trip; my biggest passion was going to the USA as being the most favorable destination to my heart more than anywhere. The first place came to my mind is the big beautiful apple “ New York City “ the center of the world and home of dreams.
So I decided to plan my trip to New York City ALONE which I got the inspiration and the support from my wife to try this solo experience. I never had any idea where to go, where to stay and even to dine! The first thing came to my mind is to use the easiest app that u always count on for your trips and destinations “ Google Maps “.
I didn’t get too deep in that app from the beginning to be honest until I have started to try & explore the number of services and features that provide to the users, first I clicked on Manhattan’s as the main destination and I have searched for hotels that suit my budget and preferences, the way how the hotels are listed and the amount of information and reviews are presented made my life so much easier than I thought!
After I choose my hotels, it made me more excited to select my attractions program, looking for the best New York pizza slice and much more. The most interesting thing is that I did my daily schedule on the trip based on my surroundings which I can choose which activity to do and what restaurant to dine in.
When I landed on the land of liberty, my plan is all set thanks to Google maps, and the moment I checked in my hotel I began to document my trip by taking pictures for every spot I stepped in, I took pictures for the central park, fifth avenue, SOHO while I’m trying to improve my photography skills at the same time, then I focused on the restaurants by showing their signature cuisines, rating their services and hospitality. So with this trip, I almost covered the whole thing and made me feel so happy.
After I came back to my home country “Bahrain “ after a while I realized the amount of people interactions for my posts is significantly increasing and how it helped them to make their choices and decisions, even the number of reviews reached over millions for a single post !! That made me more excited to be part of the local guides program and to continue sharing my experience, also at the same time, I felt responsible for the importance of this social contribution, until this day I still sharing my NYC posts and even started to focus in my country as well to help the overseas tourists to know more about the beauty of Bahrain, so thank you Google for the local guides it made me so proud of myself and thank you new york to be the reason of being an active local guides member!
