What is the Explore the Maps Challenge?
Every fortnight, we will share with you the icons and hints of famous places of any one country here. When you find that place, you have to answer it in the quiz given here. You have to choose the correct answer from the four options given below each question.
Country of this week’s challenge: Thailand
Quick facts
Thailand is a Southeast Asian country. It’s known for tropical beaches, opulent royal palaces, ancient ruins, and ornate temples displaying figures of Buddha. In Bangkok, the capital, an ultramodern cityscape rises next to quiet canalside communities and the iconic temples of Wat Arun, Wat Pho, and the Emerald Buddha Temple (Wat Phra Kaew). Nearby beach resorts include bustling Pattaya and fashionable Hua Hin. (Source: Google maps)

Here are some hints to find out places:
- The large shopping mall is located by the Chao Praya riverside with the big Ferris wheel.
- A museum located near Chulalongkorn University shows different types of houses in Bangkok.
- The temple is located on the same grounds as the Grand Palace and is renowned for its Emerald Buddha.
- The Buddhist temple is located by the Chao Praya river and has extensive exterior styles from the 19th-century ornate.
- The temple used a mix of European & Thai design, with beautiful white Italian marble.
- The Buddhist temple has a large reclining Buddha, historic art & statues.
- The Buddhist temple is left from Ayutthaya-era which is famous for pilgrimage.
- The temple has a massive golden statue of Buddha.
