Let’s explore India’s first Heritage city Ahmedabad. About Ahmedabad Heritage. The city of Ahmedabad has a rich architectural heritage which is important for the local identity and continuity of the place. Along with the leading heritage Indo-Islamic monuments of the 15th to 17th centuries, traditional residential clusters of the medieval period have potential heritage relics in the form of poles, which makes Ahmedabad exceptional. Ahmedabad is India’s first city to be included in the UNESCO World Heritage City list in 2017.
