In a recent reply to my own post that contained the use of the Devanagari देवनागरी script, some text marked as bold बोल्ड using the script when composing does not appear in bold बोल्ड when posted.
In the line above also, all mentions of the word bold in both Roman and Devanagari script are made bold.
Although the words in the Roman script actually appear bold, the ones in Devanagari font do not.
Is anyone else is seeing this problem when using a bold word in Devanagari or any other script?
I am using the Chrome browser on a Win 10 desktop computer to both compose and view the message, though the results are not as expected even on a mobile phone.
I can see the Devanagari words in bold font in the original post as well as the screenshot you presented here.
I use the Chrome dev version 88.0.4304.4 and OS Android 11.
I open connect in the Browser. Nevertheless, the PWA also uses the default browser and thus opening the site through the PWA doesn’t make any difference.
To overcome the current problem, please try changing the fonts through settings.
Similarly, in Windows, try fine-tuning the ClearType text.
Edit: Few more suggestions.
Please install Marathi on the phone. You may have G board for writing Devanagari, however, the phone needs original fonts to display that correctly.
Similarly, download Marathi on the desktop and make that as an alternative.
